The Masterly Network presents Hala Yousif, owner and textile designer of HALLE DESIGN. Hala's textile design style embraces the many rich influences the path of her life has crossed. Her early work is inspired by Iraqi folklore, the history of Babylon and by patterns from the Sumerian and Islamic arts. After moving to Stockholm, the fresh breeze of Sweden blows. The colour palette shifts towards the pure limpid colours of the Scandinavian landscape. Her internship at high end fabrics designer Malhia Kent in Paris was an important stepping-stone in her career where she was recognised especially for her outstanding feeling for structure, texture, material and colours. Hala is now based in Eindhoven, her eye-catching and authentic designs are admired by many. Hala would like to get in touch with the family-run fabric house Dedar, an Italian textile specialist located close to Como.

The Masterly Network presents artist and designer Jordan Artisan. With the large size machines, he has at his disposal in his metal workshop he experiments with construction materials like concrete reinforcement steel, wood and EPS. Repetitive welding and cutting consequently lead to raw and rough industrial work. A very refined and detailed finish creates sculptural objects on the edge between art and design. His Artisan series, consisting of amongst others a console, a cabinet, a chair and a sofa, is characterised by cut highlights and a unique patina appearance. Industrial design that will turn you into a collector. Jordan would like to look at opportunities for a collaboration with Andrea Galimberti, art director of the luxury Italian brand Nodus.

The Masterly Network presents Fransje Gimbrère, a multidisciplinary designer and art director. She graduated in 2017 from the Design Academy in Eindhoven with her ‘Standing Textile(s)’. Her concepts and designs are a playful combination of function and fantasy. Fransje creates the remarkable, by playing with perception, identity, and visual presentation. She challenges the way we look at things and stimulates the imagination. Through engineering material behaviour and manipulating image and shape she shows surprising possibilities and new interpretations that lure you in. Her work often contains contradictory elements and a unique approach and encompasses fashion, product, and set design, art and styling. A meeting with Camp Design Gallery Milan would be fantastic.

The Masterly Network presents Muurmeesters. It was founded in 2015 by Sylvia Kieft who ever since she was a child, has been fascinated by the art of the Dutch Masters. At Masterly she will show the world how they were inspired by, and can compete with, the geniuses of The Golden Age of Italian Art. Printed on textile and equipped with an interchangeable suspension system, the masterpieces are beautiful textiles inspired by Dutch Masters like Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh, that can be appreciated and enjoyed by a wide audience. The masterpieces can be printed on soft velvet as well, adding an extra rich atmosphere in a direct nod of recognition to the textured expression of the Golden Age and Italian Grandeur. The paintings have extra shine, dynamic colour contrasts and a high-end luxury feel. Working with luxury Italian hotel chains is high on their wish list.

The Masterly Network presents artist and designer Barbara Nanning. The circle has always been an important starting point for her. Her forms and structures derive from a circular motion that she allows to solidify in glass or ceramics. Over the past 40 years Nanning has built up an impressive body of work that now features in museum and private collections in the Netherlands and abroad. Many of the objects and monumental installations she creates suggest spontaneous growth, like crystals, jellyfish, flowers and micro organisms. They evoke tension and show that the contrast between ‘formed by nature’ and ‘handmade’ is not quite as rigid as we tend to think. Her most recent work combines clear crystal with uranium glass, a co-production with glasscutter and grinder Aleš Zvěřina. The sawn and cut facets in the glass produce countless optical effects and give depth to the work. In Italy she would like a collaboration with Milan based Dimoregallery.

The Masterly Network presents photographer Frieda Mellema. Like a poet plays with words, Frieda plays with imagery. She combines found materials, flowers, old objects and textiles, telling a new story together. A fairy tale, that offers you a new perspective on trash in the street or that old plastic coffee pot. All photos are taken with daylight. With an almost philosophical take she guides you along all the imaginations inside her head and creates new life for things often forgotten. Her signature is clearly present in everything she touches: soft colours, a lot of light, dreamy settings, minimalism and great texture, structure and textiles. The recipe for success for visual poetry. She would love to collaborate with an Italian gallery for a series in classic Italian objects like the Percolator.

EcoCabins was created and shaped in the pursuit of two ideals: create a world without the need for fossil energy and offer innovative housing solutions that challenge classic (polluting) building methods. During Masterly, EcoCabins will showcase the TinySuite, designed by Robin Sluijzer. A completely circular design for a 15m2 cabin. It can easily be located and relocated in a forest, a garden, a parking lot, on top of a palazzo or even on a boat. The designs for her jewellery are often born from endless repetitive movements, driven by an urge for uniformity, a hint of romance and a passion for refined details. After working in fashion for years, with amongst others Jan Taminiau, Victor radically changed course and is fully focused on artistry. The Masterly Network presents graphic designer Julia Janssen. With her 826-page book she sheds light on how many conditions you accept with a single click on ‘I accept these conditions’. She makes people think about the role of privacy, the value of data, the importance of digital sovereignty and the future of online identity. The online universe has a lot to offer. But what price do we pay to access it? Because also in cyberspace, nothing is for free. When it appears to be free, then you are their product. ‘I accept these conditions’, click ‘accept’ and we often click without thinking. In her design of the book she demonstrates the enormous significance of design to make us think about the absurdity of the premise of consent. The literal amount of conditions is given substance. A presentation of her vast volume for Margrethe Vestager, the Vice President of A Europe Fit for the Digital Age, is her ideal.

Her transparent Prismania Chair is as much a piece of art as it is a chair. Virtually unnoticeable from various angles, but when you take a step back the chair reveals all colours of the rainbow to you by using the dichroic foil by ChameleonLab. Luttik is a great admirer of the installations by the Milanese Studiopepe. A meeting with Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto at Masterly ranks high on her wish list.

The Masterly Network presents Corine van Voorbergen, an intuitive designer working on the cutting edge between art and interior design. Round abstract wall decorations with marbled effects and a visual depth that you can drown in. She would like to collaborate with the Italian designer Achille Salvagni Architetti in his gallery in Rome. Both share a proclivity for the use of deep bronze tones in their designs.
